Structure and Characteristics
A Roots screw vacuum unit is an oil-free vacuum unit composed of a Roots vacuum pump as the main pump, an intermediate pump, and a screw vacuum pump as the fore pump connected in series. The Roots vacuum pump and the screw vacuum pump have similar working principles and structures. The unit composed of a Roots vacuum pump and a screw vacuum pump has the advantages of a screw vacuum pump. At the same time, by connecting a Roots vacuum pump with a large pumping speed in series, the pumping speed of the screw vacuum pump is increased by several times, the ultimate vacuum degree is improved, and the pumping system has a better energy-saving effect. The Roots screw unit has a high vacuum degree and high pumping efficiency in the high vacuum zone. Through the supporting control system, the unit can start and stop automatically, and has automatic protection functions such as overload, overcurrent, and water shortage. The entire vacuum unit can be treated with anti-corrosion to enable it to be used in occasions where corrosive gases are removed. When the vacuum pumps of the unit adopt a vertical stacking or stepped structure, the unit occupies a small area, and it is not easy for each pump and the intermediate pipeline to accumulate foreign objects, which has obvious advantages when removing gases containing a small amount of condensable gas or a small amount of dust. According to the size of the system to be pumped, the working pressure and other factors, the vacuum unit is reasonably configured, and the stage ratio (pumping speed ratio) between the pumps of the vacuum unit can be selected between 1:2 and 1:8. Increasing the stage ratio will reduce the pumping efficiency of the vacuum pump, reduce the working pressure range, slow down the start-up, and prolong the pre-pumping time.

Roots screw vacuum units have high vacuum degree, wide working pressure range, high pumping efficiency, and can be treated with anti-corrosion. They are oil-free vacuum obtaining equipment with a wide range of applications. They can be widely used in various industries such as medicine, chemical industry, aerospace, electronics, solar energy, metallurgy, and food. The unit is suitable for high-vacuum distillation, vacuum evaporation, dehydration and crystallization processes in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries; it can also be used in vacuum impregnation and vacuum drying processes in the power industry. It is also an ideal vacuum pumping equipment for vacuum coating, vacuum smelting, vacuum heat treatment, vacuum oil filtration, freeze-drying, and aerospace simulation tests.
